Certificate in Congregational Vitality Offered at NPTS

CHICAGO, IL (February 26, 2015) — A new certificate in congregational vitality is being launched at North Park Theological Seminary in a partnership with the denomination.

“North Park is the only seminary in the world to offer a certificate program in congregational vitality,” said John Wenrich, who directs congregational vitality for the Covenant.

Students must take 12 credit hours of classes to earn the certificate. The first class, “Foundations of Congregational Vitality,” will run March 9-13. Space is still available. Courses also will be offered in the fall.

The program is designed for current and future pastors. It is offered as a stand-alone certificate or can be completed as part of a full degree program, including the master of divinity. It is open to leaders with any denominational affiliation, and is designed to be completed in two years.

In addition to Wenrich, faculty includes Paul de Neui, professor of missiology and intercultural studies; and Linda Cannell, adjunct professor of Christian formation.

The class will use an intensive hybrid course format, a combination of in-person and online learning.
