Bethany Medical Insurance Enrollment Now Open

CHICAGO, IL (December 20, 2016) – Open enrollment for pastors and qualified Covenant employees who desire to receive medical insurance coverage through Bethany Benefit Service is available now through February 15, 2017. Benefits will start on the first day of the month following the date the application is received.

afa-familyThe Bethany plan provides coverage for medical, dental, vision, and prescriptions as well as life insurance, accidental death and disability, and long-term disability to ECC church, camp, and conference staff. The plan is available to all qualified individuals who work at least 20 hours per week, said Christina Kempe, benefits coordinator.

Visit the Bethany Benefit Service webpages to view a complete outline of benefits.

Kempe said, “There are many things to consider when purchasing medical insurance, including the level of deductibles, co-pays, and the range of health care services that are covered. Bethany Benefit Service provides very high-quality coverage with low out-of-pocket costs to help avoid financial distress in times of physical or mental distress.”

If church employees or pastors enroll in an Affordable Care Act marketplace plan or their spouse’s employer plan, they are encouraged to enroll in Bethany Benefit Service life and long-term disability benefits. (Vision and dental are also available.) If they are enrolled in life and long-term disability with BBS, they may add health insurance at any time in the year if they become dis-enrolled from their other health insurance.

Call (800) 313-8955 or email bethany@covchurch.org for an application.
