Ädelbrook Behavioral and Developmental Services (formerly Children’s Home of Cromwell) is among 15 finalists in a national competition to win $100,000 from Farmers Insurance Dream Big Teacher Challenge, but they will need outside help to win.
Ädelbrook is a Covenant-affiliated ministry that serves students ages three to 21 who have development disabilities, primarily those with autism spectrum disorder.
People can vote online every day through October 31 by clicking on Jessica Embacher’s name.
Ädelbrook’s Dream Big project is to create “innovation rooms.” The rooms will include a sensory garden, music lab, and a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) lab. Older students will be able to develop job skills through the STEAM lab as well as make items such as coffee cups and calendars they can sell.
