Haley Barton to Be Keynote Speaker at Health Symposium

CHICAGO, IL (September 11, 2018) – Author and spiritual director Ruth Haley Barton will give the keynote address at “Being Well: Connecting Church, Faith, and Health,” a day-long symposium sponsored by North Park Theological Seminary and the North Park University School of Nursing.

The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, in Anderson Chapel on the university campus.

Speakers and workshops will focus on how the church can promote holistic health while working together with health professionals to accomplish what neither can do by themselves.

Anyone may attend, but the event is targeted for clergy, health clinicians, social workers, and church and community leaders. Professional continuing education credits are available.

Haley Barton is the author of numerous books and resources on the spiritual life, including Invitation to Solitude and Silence, Sacred Rhythms, Longing for More, Pursuing God’s Will Together, and Life Together in Christ. She also is the founding president/CEO of the Transforming Center, a ministry dedicated to strengthening the souls of pastors and Christian leaders, and the congregations and organizations they serve.

Sponsors include Covenant Ministries of Benevolence, the Good Shepherd Initiative, and Covenant Retirement Communities.

Early bird registration is open through September 30, and limited scholarships are available for both registration and travel.
