BATAVIA, IL (May 29, 2019) – Retired Covenant minister Larry D. Dieckman died Friday, May 24. He was 79.

He was born on January 27, 1940, to Harold and Evelyn (Rath) Dieckman in Aurora, Nebraska.

He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Kearney State College and a master’s of divinity from North Park Theological Seminary.

He married E. Jeanette Landholm on July 8, 1967.

The couple served Fairfield Covenant Church in Haxtun, Colorado; First Covenant Church in Tracy, California; Rosedale Covenant Church in Bristow, Nebraska; and the Evangelical Covenant Church in Mead, Nebraska. He also served on the boards of Covenant Heights Camp and Conference Center and Covenant Cedars Bible Camp.

Larry is survived by a daughter Amy Seedorf (David); two sons, William Dieckman (Sandra), and Jonathan Dieckman; and two grandchildren.

Jeanette preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, at Batavia Covenant Church, with a memorial service immediately afterward. A private family burial will take place at a later date in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
