Eternal Life
SUNDAY, May 21
Seventh Sunday of Easter
John 17:1-8
We await Jesus’s coming and anticipate a whole new creation with no more tears or pain. We look forward to our happily ever after by Jesus’s side. But sometimes that seems distant and hard to grasp.
Yet Jesus gave us eternal life to live in the now. In verse 3 we read, “And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only one true God” (NRSV). Is this not what we long for too? As human beings, do we not desire to be known, loved, and understood?
To be known is to be intimate with another. We long to be taken in just as we are, with all our flaws and imperfections. The Father knows us well, and still, he loves us. This eternal life that we seek can only be lived in knowing our Creator and being intimate with him now. Let us seek his face and acknowledge his presence in our everyday life.
Father, help us get to know you more. AMEN.

JUAN 17:1-8
Esperamos la venida de Jesús y anticipamos una Creación completamente nueva sin más lágrimas ni dolor. Esperamos nuestro final feliz y estar siempre al lado de Jesús, pero de alguna manera eso parece distante y, a veces, difícil de entender. Sin embargo, Jesús nos ha dado la vida eterna para vivir en el ahora. En Juan 17:3 leemos: “Y esta es la vida eterna: que te conozcan a ti, el único Dios verdadero…”
¿No es esto lo que anhelamos también? Como seres humanos, ¿no deseamos ser conocidos, amados y comprendidos?
Ser conocido es tener intimidad con otro. Anhelamos ser aceptados tal como somos, con todos nuestros defectos e imperfecciones. El padre nos conoce bien y, sin embargo, nos ama. Esta vida eterna que buscamos, solo se puede vivir conociendo a nuestro Creador y teniendo intimidad con Él ahora. Busquemos su rostro y reconozcamos su presencia en nuestra vida cotidiana.
Padre, ayúdanos a conocerte más.

Safe as One
MONDAY, May 22
John 17:9-11
It’s so comforting to belong to Jesus. We are safe in his arms and protected in him from whom all power flows.
Jesus prays for our Father to protect us, so that we may be one, as they (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) are one. We need protection from the evil one’s schemes to divide us. Our constant greed and personal desires can cause harm to the body of Christ and ourselves. To place our needs before others puts us in danger!
Why would I leave the safe heaven found in Jesus to wither away and be thrown into the fire? John 15:5 says I can do nothing apart from Jesus. I am nothing without him and my brothers and sisters, to whom I belong. We bring our gifts, skills, and talents to give and receive from another. It brings glory to our Lord Jesus and makes us one.
Lord, protect us from selfishly disregarding your will. We want to be one in you. AMEN.
Seguros Como Uno
LUNES, 22 De Mayo
Juan 17:9-11
Es un sentimiento reconfortante pertenecer a Jesús. Estamos seguros en Sus brazos y protegidos por Él, de quien fluye todo poder.
Jesús te pido que ores para que nuestro Santo Padre nos proteja, para que seamos uno, como ellos (Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo) son uno.
Necesitamos protección de los planes del maligno que quiere dividirnos. Nuestra constante codicia y nuestros deseos personales pueden causarle daño al cuerpo de Cristo y a nosotros mismos. ¡Poner nuestras necesidades ante las de los demás nos pone en peligro!
¿Por qué dejaría la seguridad que encuentro en Jesús para marchitarme y ser arrojada al fuego? Juan 15:5 dice que nada puede apartarnos de Jesús. No soy nada sin Él y sin mis hermanos y hermanas, a quienes pertenezco. Aportamos nuestros dones, habilidades y talentos para dar y recibir unos de otros. Esto trae gloria a nuestro Señor Jesús y nos hace y nos permite ser “uno”.
Señor, protégenos de ignorar egoístamente tu voluntad. Queremos ser “uno” en ti.

Constant Love
TUESDAY, May 23
1 Peter 4:7-11
What a beautiful image it is to be one in Christ. Colorful threads of every nation, tribe, people, and tongue woven together become a tapestry of God’s kingdom and glory.
Being one in Christ means so much more than our finite minds can comprehend. Though we may not understand, we fulfill our part and obey by pursuing and living out unity in Christ through the mighty power of the Holy Spirit.
It takes the power of Jesus within us to live a life of unity. Today’s passage teaches us how. We may conclude that it is not easy. But one thing is clear: We are called to bring glory to God in all things. As Christians, we strive to lift Jesus’s name on high and embody Christ on earth. We do this above all by maintaining constant love for one another, as we read in verse 8.
Lord, help us live in constant love for one another. AMEN.

1 Pedro 4:7-11
Qué hermosa imagen es ser uno en Cristo. Los hilos coloridos de cada nación, tribu, pueblo y lengua entretejidos se convierten en un bello tapiz del Reino y la gloria de Dios.
Ser uno en Cristo significa mucho más de lo que nuestras mentes finitas pueden comprender. Aunque no entendamos, cumplimos nuestra parte y obedecemos buscando y viviendo la unidad en Cristo a través del gran poder del Espíritu Santo.
Se necesita el poder de Jesús dentro de nosotros para vivir una vida de unidad. 1 Pedro 4:7-11 nos da una guía sobre cómo vivir para que seamos “uno”. Podemos concluir que no es fácil. Pero una cosa está clara, debemos dar gloria a Dios en todas las cosas. Como cristianos, nos esforzamos por poner en alto el nombre de Jesús y encarnar a Cristo plenamente en la tierra. Hacemos esto sobre todo manteniendo un amor constante los unos por los otros, como dice 1 Pedro 4:8.
Señor, ayúdanos a vivir como cristianos en constante amor los unos
por los otros.

Rejoice in Suffering
WEDNESDAY, May 24
1 Peter 4:12-19
I want to be more like Jesus and exemplify his humility, love, and com-passion. Yet in becoming like him, I know I must share his suffering too.
At times, I may be tempted to pray away my trials, but God reminds us to rejoice in the midst of them. It is through our shared suffering that we become one in Christ. In our oneness, his glory is revealed to a broken world.
Our sufferings should arise not from our evil doings but from belonging to Jesus and bearing his name with honor. All that is good comes from Jesus. Even when we are insulted and become targets of ridicule and mockery, we find joy in knowing who we belong to. Let us examine ourselves and not suffer in vain. May our trials produce everlasting joy so that the world may experience God’s goodness and glory through us.
Holy Spirit, rest upon us as your glory is revealed through our trials and suffering. AMEN.
Regocíjate En El Sufrimiento
MIÉRCOLES, 24 De Mayo
1 Pedro 4:12-19
Quiero ser más como Jesús y ejemplificar Su humildad, amor y compasión. Sin embargo, para llegar a ser como Él, sé que también debo compartir su sufrimiento.
A veces, puedo tener la tentación de orar para alejar cualquier prueba, pero Dios dice que me regocije en medio de ella. Es a través de nuestro sufrimiento compartido que podemos realmente convertimos “uno” en Cristo. En nuestra unidad, Su gloria se revela a un mundo quebrantado.
Nuestros sufrimientos no deben provenir de nuestras malas obras personales, sino de pertenecer a Jesús y llevar Su nombre con honor.
Todo lo que es bueno viene de Jesús. Incluso cuando somos insultados y nos convertimos en el blanco de burlas y menosprecio, encontramos alegría en saber a quién pertenecemos.
Examinémonos y no suframos en vano. Que nuestras pruebas produzcan gozo eterno; para que el mundo pueda experimentar la bondad y la gloria de Dios a través de nosotros.
Espíritu Santo, reposa sobre nosotros mientras tu gloria se revela a través de nuestras pruebas y sufrimientos.

Willing and Humble
THURSDAY, May 25
1 Peter 5:1-5
In June 2018, my family and I moved to Arvada, Colorado, to plant a Latino church. There was no personal gain except that of fulfilling God’s call. The challenges brought about by church planting helped us grow in humility. We shed tears, worked hard, and waited on God to produce fruit. We trusted him fully, convinced that he had called us to this mission.
Today we find ourselves pastoring a church that was nonexistent five years ago. As we waited on God to produce fruit, we clothed ourselves with the humility needed to lead his flock. We’ve come before God, surrendering the reins of his church time and time again. It is he who brings forth growth and produces the miracle of fruit. It is his church. We are merely laborers in his vineyard leading others by example to the chief Shepherd.
Lord, may we be willing and eager to serve you. Let us humbly tend to your flock in love. AMEN.
Dispuesto Y Humilde
JUEVES, 25 De Mayo
1 Pedro 5:1-5
En junio de 2018, mi familia y yo nos mudamos a Arvada, Colorado, para plantar una iglesia latina. No había ganancia personal en ello excepto la de cumplir con el llamado de Dios. Los desafíos provocados por la plantación de la iglesia nos ayudaron a crecer en humildad y dependencia de Dios. Derramamos lágrimas, trabajamos duro y esperamos en Dios para producir fruto. Confiamos plenamente en Él, convencidos de que Él nos había llamado a esta misión.
Hoy nos encontramos pastoreando una iglesia que no existía hace cinco años. Mientras esperábamos en Dios para que produjera fruto, nos vestimos con la humildad necesaria para guiar a Su rebaño. Nos hemos presentado ante Dios, entregando las riendas de Su iglesia una y otra vez. Es Él quien produce el crecimiento y produce el milagro del fruto, pues es su iglesia. Somos meramente obreros en Su viña guiando a otros con nuestro ejemplo, al Pastor principal, nuestro Señor.
Señor, te pido que estemos dispuestos y deseosos de servirte. Que atendamos humildemente a tu rebaño con amor.

Let Us Do Good to Our Neighbor
FRIDAY, May 26
Proverbs 3:27-35
When we first moved to Colorado, we knew no one and had no family for support. Our mission was to plant Oasis de Salvacion Covenant, a Latino church.
Our conference paired us up with our host church, Christ Community Covenant Church (4Cs). Under the leadership of Pastor David Scherrer, this church body embraced us with loving care. They came alongside us and did not withhold good from us. When they had the power to act, they did. Such was the case during Covid. When we weren’t sure that Oasis De Salvacion would survive, 4Cs supported us financially and emotionally. They held our hand through it all, and once it was time to reopen, they provided the facilities we needed to continue. We stand strong today, ministering to our community because of 4Cs. We honor our brothers and sisters today.
Lord, may we expand your kingdom in the hearts of many by caring for our neighbors. AMEN.
Hagamos El Bien A Nuestro Prójimo

Proverbios 3:27-35
Cuando nos mudamos a Colorado, no conocíamos a nadie y no teníamos familia que nos apoyara. Nuestra misión era plantar Oasis de Salvación ECC, una iglesia latina.
Nuestra conferencia nos conectó con nuestra iglesia anfitriona actual, Christ Community Covenant Church (4Cs). Bajo el liderazgo del pastor David Scherrer, esta iglesia nos recibió con amoroso cuidado. Estuvieron a nuestro lado, buscando siempre nuestro bienestar. Cuando tenían el poder de ayudar e intervenir, lo hacían. Tal fue el caso durante Covid. Cuando no estábamos seguros de que Oasis De Salvación sobreviviría, 4Cs nos apoyó financiera y emocionalmente. Sostuvieron nuestra mano en todo momento y al reabrir la iglesia nuevamente, nos proporcionaron las instalaciones necesarias para que pudiéramos continuar. Nos mantenemos firmes hoy, ministrando a nuestra comunidad gracias a 4cs. Hoy, agradecemos y honramos a nuestros hermanos y hermanas.
Señor, que podamos expandir tu reino en los corazones de muchos.
PRAYER FOCUS: PEOPLE WHO ARE LONELY
Stronger in Faith
SATURDAY, May 27
1 Peter 5:6-11
Our God is a caring father who loves us very much. Believing this makes it easier to humble myself under his mighty hand. His hand is strong enough to do away with my anxiety yet gentle enough to wipe away my tears.
Sadly, when we believe, we also gain an adversary. He prowls around waiting to devour us, but in believing and holding onto our faith, we grow stronger in God and he in us. Believing leads us to trust that our father God wants what’s best for us. We can freely surrender our will before the majesty of God’s throne when we believe. We cannot and shall not doubt God’s, unfailing love. His love rescues us from our sins and prevails over all evil. He took us in and made us part of a worldwide family, through our Savior Jesus Christ. We are not alone.
Father, help us hold on to your mighty hand. AMEN.
Más Fuerte En La Fe
SÁBADO, 27 De Mayo
1 Pedro 5:6-11
Nuestro Dios es un padre cariñoso que nos ama mucho. Creer esto
hace que sea más fácil humillarme bajo Su poderosa mano. Su mano
es lo suficientemente fuerte como para acabar con mi ansiedad, pero
lo suficientemente suave como para enjugar mis lágrimas.
Tristemente, cuando creemos, también ganamos un adversario, que anda rondando, esperando para devorarnos, pero nuestra fe en Dios no se lo permite. Es creyendo y aferrándonos a nuestra fe que nos fortalecemos en Dios y Él crece en nosotros. Creer nos lleva a confiar en que nuestro padre Dios quiere lo mejor para nosotros. Podemos rendir libremente nuestra voluntad ante la majestad del trono de Dios solo cuando creemos. No debemos dudar del amor inagotable de Dios.
Su amor nos rescató de nuestros pecados y prevaleció sobre todo mal.
Él nos acogió y nos hizo parte de una familia mundial, a través de nuestro salvador Jesucristo. No estamos solos.
Padre, ayúdanos a aferrarnos a tu mano poderosa.
