Seminary Searching for New Director of Weborg Center

North Park Theological Seminary (NPTS) has begun a search for a professor of spiritual formation and director of the C. John Weborg Center for Spiritual Direction. The role is a full-time administrative faculty position.

The position combines academic leadership in spiritual formation with administrative direction of the Weborg Center. The successful candidate will lead spiritual formation across all degree programs, teach foundational and elective courses, recruit and support adjunct faculty, and provide visionary leadership for the Weborg Center’s certificate program and alumni engagement.

Hauna Ondrey, dean of faculty at the seminary, said, “The C. John Weborg Center for Spiritual Direction is a vital expression of our seminary’s pietist roots and perennial mission. Expanding the director role to a full-time faculty position for the first time in the Center’s history reflects our strong commitment to forming spiritual companions, and we are excited about the expanded impact the Center will have across our Covenant community and beyond.”

About the Weborg Center for Spiritual Direction

Founded in 2005 with support from a Lilly Foundation grant, the Center for Spiritual Direction was renamed in 2011 to honor longtime professor C. John Weborg. The Center equips students, pastors, and lay leaders for ministries of spiritual companionship. Its certificate program is anchored by three summer intensive courses and supported by year-round formation opportunities for students and alumni, advancing NPTS’s pietist heritage of holistic formation.
