BLESS

An Intentional Evangelism Initiative

BLESS is a transformative approach to prayer and evangelism, focused less on memorizing scripts and more on authentically loving our neighbors. It helps us move beyond feeling “stuck” in evangelism, encouraging a more natural, relational practice. Through five simple missional practices—Begin with prayer, Listen with care, Eat together, Serve in love, and Share the story—BLESS equips every Covenanter with practical resources to make disciples who follow Jesus, become like Jesus, and engage in His mission in their daily lives.

How Does BLESS Work?

God’s way of reaching and restoring the world has always been through blessing. These five missional practices make up the acronym BLESS and are a way to participate in the strategy God gave Abraham to reach the world. “And I will bless you…and you will be a blessing” (Genesis 12:2). As we engage these practices daily, we partner with God’s Spirit to bless those who do not know him.

Begin with Prayer

Pray for people in your life who are far from God. Ask God, “How do you want to use me to bless the people in my life?”

Prior to moving to the USA, I was a professor at the National University of Colombia and served with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students in Colombia for 16 years. Starting in 2001, I served as InterVarsity National Staff in the USA. I have a master’s degree in Christian Ministries, and I serve in Spiritual Direction to those who want to be fully present and available to God and receive His grace over them. My joy is to see professors and college students coming to know Jesus and being transformed into people that bring the good news of righteousness and justice to others.
