COMPTON, CA (August 13, 2012) – Following are questions and responses from Carla Gonzalez Padilla concerning her background and experiences at CHET, where she is enrolled in the summer Biblical Greek course.
Country/place of origin: Jalisco, Mexico.
Church: Carla serves as a worship leader in her church, presently on a break from those responsibilities while caring for her 10-month-old daughter, Isabella.
CHET status: Four-year student.
Q: What part of your studies at CHET do you find most satisfying and challenging?
A: My studies at CHET are most satisfying because I am constantly learning more about God’s word. Most challenging to me is to put my learning into practice.
Q: Taking a course during the summer may be challenging. Have you made any sacrifice in order to attend this course?
A: Because of my baby girl, coming to class is now a constant challenge. My greatest sacrifice is having to learn how to adjust my time to care for my family, and yet continue to study. Greek is both challenging and complicated.
Carla adds, “Please do not take CHET’s existence for granted. CHET is a dream that was birthed in God’s heart for the purpose of transforming our lives.”
