Kara Stromberg Named NWC Associate Superintendent
MINNEAPOLIS, MN (October 25, 2019) – Kara Stromberg has been named the new associate superintendent for the Northwest Conference.
Stromberg has served as the conference director of children and family ministry for seven years. Prior to that, she served as pastor to youth and families at Roseville (Minnesota) Covenant Church, director of training at youth leadership, adjunct instructor at Bethel Theological Seminary, and interim pastor at Roots Covenant Church in St. Paul, Minnesota.
She is a graduate of Bethel Seminary and was ordained to word and service in 2010.
“I’m excited to step into this new leadership role to continue to provide strategic leadership for children and family ministry, but to also have opportunity to equip pastors and leaders more broadly throughout our conference,” Stromberg said. “I love working with churches and am proud to be a part of such a great team in the Northwest Conference.”
She is stepping into a newly created role. “With increased conference needs and wanting to empower highly gifted younger leaders, I felt it was the right time for such a change in Kara’s role,” said superintendent Mark Stromberg (no relation). “For the time being, part of her role will still be to provide high-level oversight to children and families ministry, but she will also be working in a variety of areas including pastoral search committees, elements of our church planting work, preaching, annual meeting planning, strategic planning, as well as in other areas.”
The Northwest Conference executive board approved her for the position on the recommendation of the superintendent, board chair, and chair of the conference personnel committee.
Stromberg and her husband, Nate, live in St. Paul with their three children, Ben, Greta, and Juniper.
