Intercultural Development leverages cultural competency and helps churches along in the reconciliation process. Intercultural Development is foundational to reconciliation. Love Mercy Do Justice (LMDJ) walks alongside churches and communities as they embrace the mosaic of God’s Kingdom, learning how to engage in mutual exchange and share life with people across ethnicity and culture.
All of us can benefit from Intercultural Development and it is particularly essential in churches that do not reflect the ethnic diversity of their community. Through assessments and resources, the church can be equipped to participate in the breaking down of dividing walls of hostility and misunderstanding as we work alongside those in our neighborhoods.
The Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) is an excellent resource for individuals and congregations. It builds awareness, sensitivity, competency and contextually relevant feedback.
