Fund Will Help Church Assist Isaac Victims

CHICAGO, IL (August 31, 2012) – A special Covenant World Relief (CWR) fund has been established to help Canal Street Covenant Church in New Orleans provide immediate assistance to victims of Hurricane Isaac.

David Husby, CWR director, said it is important to help one of the Covenant’s newest congregations serve its neighbors. The church was adopted into the Covenant at the recent Annual Meeting.

The church provided extensive relief and development help following Katrina, Husby said. Although the damage in the city hasn’t been as great as that sustained following the historic storm, many needs still exist.

“If we receive requests for work groups or material donations, we will communicate those needs on our Facebook page or blog,” Husby said.
