WINNIPEG, MANITOBA (June 5, 2013) – Space still exists for the “Hope in the Holy Land – Early Adult Vision Trip” to explore discipleship and reconciliation on a visit to the Middle East sponsored by the Evangelical Covenant Church of Canada.
The trip is open to people ages 18-35. It is being carried out in cooperation with World Vision and will take place August 15-25. Cost is $1,950 plus airfare. The price covers food, lodging, and transportation.
Participants will meet with Israelis and Palestinians working to bring reconciliation. Seeing the situation in person will help bring different perspectives than those traditionally told about the region, organizers say.
Facilitators will be Covenant minister Mae Elise Cannon, who serves as the senior director of advocacy and outreach – Middle East for World Vision, and Charlie Abou Saada, the World Vision church relations coordinator for the region.
Spiritual directors will be Julia Sandstrom, director of ministry support for the ECC Canada, and Jarrod McKenna, who works with the World Vision Christian Engagement Team in Australia.
