Three New Executive Ministers Elected

KANSAS CITY, MO (June 26, 2015) – Delegates to the 130th Annual Meeting of the Evangelical Covenant Church elected new executive ministers to guide three of the denomination’s mission priority areas today.

Michelle Sanchez was elected to serve as executive minister of Make and Deepen Disciples, Al Tizon of Serve Globally, and Cecilia Williams of Love Mercy and Do Justice. They will officially start in their new positions on September 1.

Sanchez most recently has served as assistant pastor of Christian formation and mission at Highrock Covenant Church in Arlington, Massachusetts. Tizon has most recently served as co-president of Evangelicals for Social Action and as associate professor of holistic ministry at Palmer Theological Seminary of Eastern University in St. Davids, Pennsylvania. Cecilia Williams has been serving as director of ministry initiatives for Love Mercy and Do Justice.
