ST. PAUL, MN (August 11, 2015) — A concert featuring the Oakdale Christian Academy Choir from Chicago and members of the First Covenant Church of St. Paul choir will be streamed live at 6:30 p.m. (central) Wednesday.
The concert featuring traditional and contemporary songs concludes a three-day gospel music workshop that also was open to other community members. About 85 people will perform Wednesday night.
“The workshops have brought together people of all ages, colors, and class levels to foster intercultural, intergenerational, and ecumenical relationships based on the appreciation we all have for gospel music,” said Anne Vining, pastor of First Covenant.
In addition to learning music and more about the history of gospel, participants have done community service projects.
The Oakdale children’s choir has performed throughout the United States and in Sweden. They will sing the first several pieces, and the rest will feature the combined choir.
