CHICAGO, IL (January 25, 2016) — The snow that pummeled the East Coast is keeping some Covenant ministers from arriving today at the Midwinter Conference in Chicago, and some may not be able to make it until at least Wednesday because of canceled flights.
The conference is being held today through Friday at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare hotel.
The brutal weather hasn’t just impacted East Coast travelers. Canceled connecting flights affected ministers throughout the country, including the West Coast, who also may be delayed at least a day.
The storm led to the cancelation of more than 12,000 flights since Friday, according to the flight tracking website FlightAware. The site reported that 1,728 were canceled for today.
Airlines were resuming flights in several major cities but at greatly reduced schedules.
