CHICAGO, IL (February 8, 2017) – Locked in Solidarity, the Christian Community Development Association’s national awareness and action day on mass incarceration, will take place in the Chicago area on Thursday, February 9, at 7 p.m. at North Park University’s Anderson Chapel. Hosted by the Love Mercy Do Justice mission priority and NPU’s University Ministries, the event will feature a time of prayer, hope, and opportunities to share stories.
Locked in Solidarity began in 2014 as an effort to increase awareness of the impact incarceration is having on poor and marginalized communities in the United States. According to organizers, the event seeks to educate and mobilize churches and individuals around issues related to the injustices of the U.S. prison system.
