Mount Miguel Dedicates Peterson Life Center

SPRING VALLEY, CA (May 4, 2017) — Mount Miguel Covenant Village recently dedicated its newly completed $19.1 million Peterson Life Center.

The building includes three dining venues, an art studio and gallery, a library, wellness center and fitness studio, 24-seat movie theater, and a kids’ corner for visiting children.

The building is named in honor of the legacy of Paul V. Peterson, a retired Covenant Retirement Communities (CRC) president and former Mount Miguel administrator. Peterson also served as president of Covenant Ministries of Benevolence (CMB) before retiring in 2002.

During Peterson’s five-year tenure as Mount Miguel’s administrator, three residential buildings, a health care center, and a Village Center were constructed. He served as CRC’s first president from 1982 to 1997 and spearheaded the reorganization of CRC into one corporate legal entity with campus-wide boards of directors.

The organizational structure was the first of its kind, and many multi-facility senior living organizations now use it, said Terri Cunliffe, president and CEO of CRC.

“It is with tremendous gratitude that we dedicated Mount Miguel’s Life Center to Paul Peterson,” Cunliffe said. “The organization we are today reflects his vision and leadership, and his commitment to our mission to do God’s work.”

CMB president David Dwight performed the dedication during Mount Miguel’s 50th Anniversary Celebration and annual Benevolence Dinner.
