CHICAGO, IL (October 4, 2017) – Covenanters can now donate funds designated specifically for relief and recovery efforts in Puerto Rico.
The island already was suffering terribly from Hurricane Irma two weeks prior to Hurricane Maria and had left 80,000 people without power. Relief and recovery will be a long-time effort, and it is estimated that parts of Puerto Rico will be without power for up to six months. Approximately 75 percent of the island still is without water.
Love Mercy Do Justice is working with Covenant churches and other partners to coordinate an immediate and long-term response to the disaster.
