CHICAGO, IL (May 29, 2018) – The number of church delegates to Gather 2018, this year’s Annual Meeting, reached 624 as of Friday and the number is expected to continue to grow, said Jill Ulven, registrar of events.
At this time last year, the number of church delegates was at 203. The final number of church delegates last year was 248.
In addition to the number of church delegates, 99 conference, denominational, and Serve Globally delegates – who also may vote – are registered, for a total of 723 voting delegates.
There are 434 registrants for the Ministerium meeting, which precedes the Annual Meeting.
This year’s meeting will be held June 21-23 at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center hotel.
The Annual Meeting is the highest legislative session in the ECC. This year’s meeting will include votes for presidents of the ECC and North Park University and the executive minister of Develop Leaders, as well as the introduction of new superintendents for the Canada and Southeast conferences.
Seating for the opening dinner and worship service on June 21 has reached capacity. As a result, seating in the ballroom will be limited to registered attendees. Overflow seating will be available for livestreaming of the worship service; however, dinner will not be served in that space.
