POMEROY, IA (November 2, 2018) – Covenant minister Dan Fullerton, died Tuesday, October 30, at the age of 69 while attending the Midwest Conference pastors retreat.
Dan was born September 24, 1949, in Swan River, Manitoba, Canada, to Wilbert and Hazel Fullerton.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Saskatchewan, a Master of Divinity from North Park Theological Seminary, a Master of Theology from Union Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary.
He married Dawn Bernstrom on August 31, 1973.
They served Gateway Covenant Church in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan; Audubon Park Covenant Church in Orlando, Florida; and Fairmont (Minnesota) Covenant Church; and Pomeroy Covenant Church. He also served as interim at Rochester (Minnesota) Covenant Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Amy and Bethany Fullerton; a son, Jamison Fullerton; and a granddaughter, Aurora Wehner.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 9, at the Pomeroy church, 21822 600th St., Pomeroy, IA 50575. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday.
All ministers are invited to participate in a minister’s choir, which will sing “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” and will gather at the Elfsborg Lutheran Church at 9 a.m. Ministers planning to participate are asked to email the Midwest Conference office at office@midwestcovenant.org
