Day 23 Gift Idea: Freedom from Human Trafficking

CHICAGO, IL (December 23, 2018) – Throughout the Advent season, Covenant Newswire is highlighting daily gift selections from the CovenantCares giving guide. Through the free annual catalog, Covenanters can partner with brothers and sisters around the globe to give gift donations that will help serve communities and advance God’s work in many areas.

This week we highlight the ministry of the Hindustani Covenant Church’s work with women and girls who have been trafficked.

The story of Sanjita (not her real name) reflects the power of this ministry. She was born to a commercial sex worker in Mumbai’s red-light district. Her proximity to the sex trafficking industry led to an unplanned pregnancy, and she fled.

Covenant World Relief partner Covenant Social Service (CSS) found her and provided counseling, treatment and encouragement. Sanjita and her mother eventually came to Home of Hope, the rehabilitation center in Pune. Staff at Home of Hope have helped Sanjita and her mother build confidence in their self-worth and seek opportunities for new ways of supporting themselves and their children.

This and other missional gift-giving options are available now through CovenantCares Gifts for Mission. Please join us in advancing the mission.
