Join the Launch of FREE: An Anti-Sex Trafficking Initiative

Charito (not her real name) is a survivor of sex trafficking. The first time she was first sold for sex in a bar, she was 14 years old. Today, she is a survivor and a social worker for women who have shared her experience. Her own journey has been one of overcoming fear and shame as well as reclaiming her faith in God.

FREE, an anti-sex trafficking initiative of the Evangelical Covenant Church, invites individuals and churches to advocate alongside survivors like Charito to break the cycle of trafficking. “FREE presents a well-rounded picture of the pervasiveness of the commercial sex-trafficking industry,” says Ramelia Williams, director of ministry services for Love Mercy Do Justice. “From online sex trafficking technology tools, to international exploitation, to domestic expressions of this evil, the launch event will communicate the extensive global scale and impact of this billion-dollar industry on its victims and survivors. We invite our churches to learn more about why this evil injustice breaks the heart of our God. We stand on the margins, domestically and internationally, with vulnerable people who are made in the image of God, to uncover the darkness of this evil with our collective light.”
