Lorraine Pratt, widow of Covenant minister Wallace Pratt, died on October 19, 2022, in Mahtomedi, Minnesota. She was 95.

Lorraine Bjorklund Pratt was born to Arthur and Esther Bjorklund on June 10, 1927, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She attended Pillsbury Elementary School where she met the love of her life, Wallace Pratt. She attended Edison High School in Minneapolis and graduated from Minnehaha Academy in 1945. She and Wally were married on March 19, 1948, at Salem Covenant Church. They welcomed five children into their family: Len, Lowell, Joyce, Sharon, and Warren.

Lorraine served in ministry alongside Wally at the Red Wing Covenant Church in Red Wing, Minnesota; Mount Miguel Covenant Church in Spring Valley, California; and Dassel Covenant Church in Dassel, Minnesota. She was known for teaching Sunday school, playing the piano, singing in the choir, and demonstrating a servant’s heart and an unwavering commitment to care for others.

Among her many ministry endeavors, Lorraine was instrumental in organizing the Young Women’s Bible Study program in Dassel, which included childcare to help the young mothers of the church. She also spearheaded a new after-school youth program, AWANA, to provide a place for kids to go after school. The door to Lorraine and Wally’s parsonage home was open to all.

In 2015, Lorraine and Wally moved from their home on Big Marine Lake to the St. Andrews Retirement Community, where Lorraine continued to share her gifts of compassion and care to all within her orbit.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Wally, and granddaughter Annamarie Carlson. She is survived by her children, Len (Ellen), Lowell (Wendy), Joyce Carlson (Tom), Sharon Lee (Dan), and Warren (Lisa); 13 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Memorial gifts can be given to Salem Covenant Church in Minneapolis or St. Andrews Retirement community in Mahtomedi.

Peace be to her memory.
