Hometown
Growing up—San Carlos, California, on the San Francisco Peninsula. Now—Park Ridge, Illinois, three miles from Covenant Offices and three miles from O’Hare.
What are you reading?
I just finished In the Name of Jesus, by Henri J. M. Nouwen, and started Truth’s Table, by Ekemini Uwan, Christina Edmundson, and Michelle Higgins.
What do you hope pastors and ministry leaders who attend Midwinter will take away from your talk?
I hope people will come away encouraged, hope-filled, and prayed up.
What does the Midwinter theme, “Immeasurably More,” mean to you in your life and ministry by context?
Jesus can provide more than we can possibly hope, ask, or imagine—both individually and corporately—when we trust in his resurrection power and unconditional love.
What would Midwinter attendees be surprised to learn about you?
I love to worship, but I don’t sing well or have rhythm, so I have to make a choice between clapping and singing, but I don’t do either well, even though I might do it with gusto.
What was the last song you sang along to?
“Jesus Loves Me This I Know.” I sing it to, and with, my grandchildren all the time. They call it the “grandma song.”
