Cyndi Hoffman Named VP of Finance

After a diligent selection process and prayerful consideration, the Covenant Executive Board has approved the appointment of Cynthia “Cyndi Hoffman to serve as vice president of finance and corporate treasurer of the Evangelical Covenant Church. Her first day in the role will be May 28, 2024.

“After we gathered together some of the most astute financial people in the Covenant to join an interview panel, Cyndi became the obvious choice for all of us,” said President Tammy Swanson-Draheim. “Her background and experiences have prepared her to help us grow through her financial leadership. Her recent membership at Glen Ellyn Covenant Church demonstrates her appreciation and enthusiasm for her new church home. I am delighted that Cyndi said yes. She is an answer to my prayers and the prayers of many Covenanters.”

Most recently Cyndi served as interim vice president of finance for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Her extensive background in nonprofit finance includes serving as CFO of McGaw YMCA, as well as a variety of roles at Northwest Community Healthcare (Endeavor Health), United Health Group, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, and Rockford Health System (Mercy Health).

Cyndi holds a bachelor of science degree in finance and an MBA from Northern Illinois University, as well as master’s degrees in strategic management and marketing from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Cyndi and her husband, Ken, live in Schaumburg, Illinois, and have three children.
