Retired Covenant minister Ann Maleski passed on July 10, 2024, in Chicago, Illinois. She was 77 years old.

Ann Solveig Maleski was born to Rev. and Mrs. Arthur Carlson on August 4, 1946, in Escanaba, Michigan. She lived in Tustin, Michigan, during her formative years before her family moved to Loves Park, Illinois. She graduated from Loves Park High School. Ann continued her education at North Park University and Northwestern University in Chicago, earning her bachelor’s degree in 1983. She went on to attend North Park Theological Seminary and received her Master of Divinity in 1997.

While working at Montgomery Ward, she met Jerome Maleski. They married on November 21, 1969.

Ann loved working with people, which led her to become director of the North Park Covenant Church food pantry. She also worked as a chaplain to men coming out of prison. She is fondly remembered as a wonderful spiritual leader.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Arthur Carlson; her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Sohlberg; and her beloved husband, Jerome.

Ann is survived by her sisters, Caroline Veeder and Karin Nyland; sister-in-law, Nancy Kwasniewski; cousins, Margie, Carol, and Joanna; nephews, Kenneth and Timothy; nieces, Marcia, Susan, Pamela, and Theresa; and many more nieces and nephews whom she considered her own children.

Family and friends are invited to attend a service of love and remembrance at Edgebrook Covenant Church in Chicago, Illinois, on October 3 at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
