Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, Andover Newton Theological School, Yale Divinity School, and Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, and Lutheran Theological College in Chennai, India.
He wrote several critically acclaimed commentaries, including a three-volume, 2,200-page commentary on the book of Jeremiah, which Rev. Craig Anderson called his “magnum opus” in this review for Pietisten. He continued to publish academic works until nearly the end of his life. His commentary on Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi was published by Wipf & Stock in October 2025.
Jack is survived by his wife, Linda; and children, David and Jeanie. Memorials and condolences may be sent to his family in care of Jinny Larson at 5800 Saint Croix Ave. N, Apt.
