Search for Next Executive Minister of Serve Globally Now Underway

Dear Members of the Evangelical Covenant Church,

The Serve Globally Nominating Committee held an organizational meeting on November 18, 2021, and we are proceeding with the discernment process to identify a nominee for the office of Executive Minister of Serve Globally. Elections for this position will be held during the 136th Covenant Annual Meeting in Kansas City, Missouri, June 23-25, 2022.

Serve Globally is one of the five mission priorities of the Covenant.  The Executive Minister of this mission priority also oversees missional efforts for Covenant World Relief and Development and Paul Carlson Partnership, as well as shepherds the relationships and engagements of global personnel and ministry partners around the world.

The Serve Globally Nominating Committee is composed of the following elected officers: Cindy Wu (chair), Carl Helfrich (vice-chair), Dwain Tissell (secretary), Susan Park (vice-secretary), Sally Carlson, Jennifer Mitchell Fetch, Roberto Ghione, Greg Jao, Mary Ann Owens, Merideth Randles, Tim Rodgers, and John Wenrich (president), in addition to Angela Yee, executive director of ministry development, and Rebecca Gonzalez, executive director of operations.

As we commence the sacred task of identifying a Covenant leader to lead this mission area, we extend an invitation to all Covenanters to share their reflections on the following questions before January 15, 2022.

1. What attributes and qualities should the Executive Minister of Serve Globally possess?
2. What are the main areas/issues on the horizon that the Executive Minister of Serve Globally will need to address in the next term?
3. Other comments?
