For more than 40 years, the Evangelical Covenant Church has honored lay leaders from across the denomination with the prestigious T.W. Anderson Award. This award is named in honor of the only layperson to serve as president of the Evangelical Covenant Church. It is presented each year during the Annual Meeting and honors a layperson who has demonstrated a life of commitment and dedication to Christ and the church and has been a member of a Covenant Church for at least 10 years.
This award is a beautiful tribute to the late Dr. Theodore W. Anderson and was created to honor someone in our denomination who is admired and revered in his or her local congregation. Is there a small group leader who has profoundly influenced you and your faith journey? Is there a dedicated volunteer in your church who has served faithfully for years? Is there a volunteer that has helped organize community outreach efforts? Help us identify these leaders who deserve to be recognized by our denomination.
Nominations can be made using this online form. The deadline for submitting nominations is February 1, 2025. If you have any questions, contact Jorden Meyers, director of ministry services for the president’s office.
