Deeper In Christ Retreat

“BE STILL, AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD…” (PSALM 46:10)

The Deeper in Christ retreat experience is designed for those in ministry who are seeking to renew their friendship with God, reignite their pastoral imagination, and explore their call in a deeper way. Pastors, missionaries, and chaplains who would like to spend 5 days in reflection, prayer, spiritual direction and worship are invited to apply to attend this re-visioning retreat. There are two retreats offered per year, with a maximum of ten participants per retreat.

Those who are selected to participate will receive a Sustaining Pastoral Excellence grant, which includes:

  • All expenses for the retreat experience including registration, lodging, food, and materials
  • Travel reimbursement of up to $600 for transportation to and from the retreat location

Grant Eligibility Requirements:

  • Current, active service of at least 2 years in a ministry field
  • Hold active credential from the Evangelical Covenant Church
  • Ministerial dues current for at least the last 2 years

Self-Selected Renewal Retreats

  • Up to $500 is available for personal retreats designed for Covenant ministers who feel the need to spend three to seven days in retreat, prayer, and study
  • An outline of the retreat components, including desired outcomes, will need to accompany the grant application
  • Receipts for all approved retreat expenses should be submitted following the experience; grants are awarded on a reimbursement basis
  • Application submissions are considered as they are received

Prior to moving to the USA, I was a professor at the National University of Colombia and served with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students in Colombia for 16 years. Starting in 2001, I served as InterVarsity National Staff in the USA. I have a master’s degree in Christian Ministries, and I serve in Spiritual Direction to those who want to be fully present and available to God and receive His grace over them. My joy is to see professors and college students coming to know Jesus and being transformed into people that bring the good news of righteousness and justice to others.
