CHIANG MAI, THAILAND (July 19, 2010) –Students participating in a recent mission trip to Thailand experienced a wide range of activities, from emotion-packed baptisms to outreach ministries to sightseeing excursions and an opportunity to sample Thai culture. EAST GREENWICH, RI (July 8, 2010) – The Burmese refugees don’t know until just days before they arrive in the United States that this country will be their new home. They know nothing of the language, its customs, or even about modern appliances. Poor, largely uneducated, and persecuted by their native country, most have spent at least a decade living in refugee camps established in Thailand.
Associate Pastor Kyu Bum “Kenny” Ye was killed. Member Gary Parrett (accompanying photo), who is professor of Educational Ministries and Worship at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, is in critical condition following surgery to repair a brain hemorrhage. Parrett also serves as chair of the Ministry of the Church Division at the seminary. He served as a part-time pastor at Highrock from 2003-2004.

POMEROY, IA (June 18, 2010) – An agricultural operation run by a Christian businessman in Southeast Asia will get a large contribution thanks to members of the Pomeroy Covenant Church who dismantled a 57-foot grain auger on Wednesday.
ST. PAUL, MN (June 17, 2010) – Since its founding 125 years ago, the Evangelical Covenant Church has emphasized spreading the gospel internationally. To honor that commitment and help celebrate the denomination’s landmark anniversary next week, Covenant leaders from around the world will participate in the celebration, which begins Thursday and concludes with the traditional ordination service Sunday morning.
